Miss Hattie's Bordello Museum
Miss Hattie’s business was the hospitality business. She found great pleasure in entertaining her clients.
She believed that if she created a place that was Intimate, Private, and Romatic no one could resist what she had to offer.
Miss Hattie never pretended to be anything other than what she was. A great hostess who surrounded herself with beautiful things and knew the importance of simple yet elegant food with unforgettable service.
"When you visit the bordello-turned museum, only Miss Hattie and her ladies are missing. Lace curtains and velvet drapes hang over the windows. Ornate furnishings take you back to a time when San Angelo boomed and a was a wide-open frontier town. The rooms, named for the women who worked there, feature customized gilded pressed tin ceilings painted gold. The small kitchen looks very basic.
"For 50 years, soldiers, cowboys and travelers were attracted to a San Angelo institution, a brothel they knew simply as Miss Hattie’s"
